The navigation is fantastic and its great having a system that can read you text messages from your cell phone. The system does work great and is a big improvement over Sync. With the new panel, the vehicle will not be dual zone though as the heat/AC system only has a single blend door. I tried it and you can't run the single zone HVAC panel and blend door module once Sync 3 is in the vehicle. Sync 3 controls many HVAC controls for the rear of the vehicle and these CAN messages collide with the single zone HVAC control panel and module. On the Expedition, the Sync APIM module is underneath the bottom of the center console, but for the replacement Sync 3, it is mounted right to the back of the touch screen. This is because on the standard Sync system, the APIM module is located away from the back of the screen.

The update required some fairly complex cables like you see in the video. I went from standard Sync to Sync 3 with NAV, HD radio and Sirius. I just did this update on my 2017 Expedition EL using the Infotainment setup. In fact, the voice I hear on the Youtube video sounds like one of the Infotainment engineers.
